    Hello

I would like some help. I bought a new laptop to play SA-MP on Installed San Andreas, worked fine, went to SA-MP site and downloaded SA-MP and didn't work.

First it did not come up with any servers, I had to allow it from the firewall. Then once it picked up servers i clicked on conenct, then it flashes up with a white screen and flashes again and then goes into single player menu.

    PLEASE HELP!!

I have vista, and have not had that problem.
I'm sure you've tried all the basic things people suggest, but you never know:

    Have you downgraded your game?

Have you tried using the 0.2X Client samp version?

Have you ever used the command /tracert IP?

[U]1776 might be of assistance as he has had many battles to get samp to work on Vista too. If he doesn't reply here, you may like to pm him.

The only solution for this in by not installing any update into GTA SA, as it will not work after you launch the game since SAMP requires the 1.0 version which in case is the default one.

One of the major problems with Vista and older programs or ones not updated deals with permission problems. Setting older and non-updated software to compatibility mode with XP should be a knee jerk reaction with Vista users. Go to the location where you installed the game and and right click on the two executables for the game and the mod, then choose properties. Check the box to run as administrator and hit the compatibility tab and set to run under XP. If that does not work then set all your graphic options as low as possible in single player mode and try again ramping them up if they work till they do not. You may also want to see if you can get updated drivers for your video card.

As another heads up, to exit out of the mod you should never click the X box in the upper right corner as it will only start an overflow of error boxes until Vista sees a non-responsive program and opts you to end it. Instead, go to the task manager and find the process in the list and end it. Poor quality software doesn't mix well with Vista.
